TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN BOWLS CLUB – THE TAIPANS
The Tamborine Mountain Bowls Club is proud to be an integral part of Club Tamborine.
The sport of Lawn Bowls is internationally recognised as a sport open to all ages and abilities, and its place in history is well known through the involvement of Sir Francis Drake. History is forever being written, and it is worth noting that Tamborine Mountain Bowls Club will be celebrating its 70th anniversary next year (2022). Following drought conditions during which our water supply was severed, we now have our own bore and are once again able to offer professionally prepared greens, so are reinstating several events to our bowling calendar, to cater for all levels of bowls. A very friendly club, our offerings run from social bowls to club championships and a number of inter-club competitions, including pennant, which are all approached with a view to our members’ enjoyment and bowling development. Our reputation is of being a small club which plays well above its weight, but most of all we pride ourselves in playing in an enjoyable and convivial way.
During our long history, we have enjoyed success in the District Pennant and Q7’s competitions, as well as exclusive competitions for the Can-Tam and Championship Shields. We encourage involvement in other clubs’ events and major events such as the Champion of Club Champions and Australian Open.
Visitors and new members are very happily welcomed to our club, of whatever age, ability and experience level, with all social games being gender and ability inclusive. Many of our competition games are also open to all players, and although a small club, we can offer games to suit all levels. We are very proud to note that our local Lions Club makes use of our greens, and a couple of our dedicated members, for its “Mountain Mates” program, enabling disabled young people the opportunity of playing our game in a wonderfully social monthly event culminating in dinner, singing and dancing (when allowed) in Club Tamborine.
If you are considering playing bowls, or wish to join, we will be pleased to offer the support and assistance to get you on the green – membership and game fees are inexpensive, and we have experienced players and officials who are more than willing to assist. The rejuvenation of our greens has coincided with the revival of Club Tamborine as a welcoming community club with all facilities on offer, where the tales of sporting legends germinate!
Your initial contact with us can be through Club Tamborine, but do not hesitate to contact our committee folk directly for information and assistance, particularly:

Recycling to Support the Community
All aluminium cans and bottles go into specific recycling bins for recycling. Proceeds from this recycling are donated to the Scouts Association.
Focus on Community Needs
Club Tamborine actively looks for ways to support the local community. Recently we installed a 30,000ltr water tank specifically for use by the Rural Fire Service and fed from the Club's bore.
Fundraising
Many of the events held at the Club have a fundraising component that is donated to local community groups, emergency services and not-for-profit organisations.
Wow! What a hidden gem! I came up the mountain and found this wonderful place. Its quiet, clean, friendly staff, excellent food! I purchased the 'Beef Cheeks' and was floored. Best I've had in a long time, and I will definitely return with more people to share this wonderful place. Do yourself a favour and make the trip
